The state-of-the-art American Candela GentleMax is the world's top FDA-approved hair removal laser.
The Laser is nothing but photons, that is, purified light, free from any other radiation.
Laser is nothing but photons, that is, purified light, free from any other radiation.
When applied to the desired area, the targeted skin cells absorb this light.
The light energy is converted into heat destroying the hair follicles so that they can no longer produce hair and this happens without harming the surrounding skin.
Which parts of your body are candidates for treatment?
Almost anywhere there is unwanted hair growth.

Does the application hurt?
The Candela GentleMax system includes the Dynamic Cooling Device ™ (DCD.). This device sprays the top layer of the skin with a cooling solution, causing it to freeze. Within two milliseconds, the laser is released at the same point. This cold-heat combination that lasts less than a second, significantly reduces the sensation of pain and makes the whole process particularly tolerable.
For those who feel more sensitive, numbing cream can be applied beforehand.
How many sessions are needed?
Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation on this subject.
No one can predict the number of sessions required.
The human body has millions of hair follicles. It is not possible to target all of them in one session, however each new session leaves you with fewer active hair follicles.
The number of sessions required, depends on:
- skin color
- the color of hair
- the number of hairs
- the size of the area covered
- the number of areas covered
If you have dark hair on light skin, you will have the fastest results. The laser needs the contrast between the hair color and the skin color to guide it. This is because light (Laser) is absorbed more by the dark color.
In each new session, the result is added to the previous one. Although you may need multiple sessions, hair follicles that have already been damaged can no longer produce hair.
How is it after the procedure?
Your skin may be irritated-red for a few minutes to a few hours. Dr Otto recommends using a moisturizer as well as avoiding sun exposure for 3 weeks.
How do you prepare for the application of Candela GentleMax?
You should shave the application areas before the procedure so that the length of the hair is 1-2 mm.
Because the laser works best on lighter skin, you should avoid sun exposure. Dark skin is a target for the Laser, so it should not be applied.
Do not wax or pull the hair for 2-3 weeks prior to a session. If there is no hair, the laser cannot target the follicles.
